Chitose Indonesia Manufacturing adalah sebuah perusahaan yang berbasis Business Line Manufacturing dan Product Lines steel chair furnitures yang memproduksi lebih dari dua juta kursi pada setiap tahunya untuk pasar domestik dan internasional. Salah satu produk terlarisnya adalah kursi lipat YAMATO yang berkontruksi pipa dan plat. Untuk menjaga stabilitas produksi kursi lipat YAMATO, perusahaan harus menjaga persediaan bahan baku, terutama PLATE SPCC-SB yang merupa,kan bahan baku untuk bagian back rest pada kursi lipat YAMATO.
Dalam Proses Pengadaannya, Plate SPCC-SB ini memerlukan tenggang waktu sehingga perusahaan harus mampu menentukan kebijakan persediaan bahan baku. Dengan adanya fenomena ini, penelitian diharapkan dapat memenuhi kebutuhan bahan baku yang memiliki kemungkinan kelebihan maupun kekurangan persediaan. Dalam penelitian ini penulis menggunakan model kebutuhan tidak tetap selama tenggang waktu melalui pendekatan distribusi Uniform. Dalam menentukan nilai cadangan penyangga (safety stock). Dari hasil penelitian ini diperoleh safety stock bahan baku PLATE SPCC-SB sebesar 2598 lembar.

Chitose Indonesia Manufacturing is a company which basis on Business Line Manufacturing dan Product Lines steel chair furnitures, produced more than two million chairs in each year for domestic market and international market. One of their best selling product is YAMATO folding chair which contstructed by pipe and plate. In order to maintain the YAMATO folding chair’s production stability, company need to maintain their raw materials inventories, particularly PLATE SPCC-SB which is the raw material for back rest part on YAMATO folding chair.
In their procurement process, Plate SPCC-SB require a lead time, so that the company need to be able to determine the policy of raw materials inventories. By this phenomenon, this study is expected to satisfy the demand of raw materials which probably has a surplus nor a lack of stock. In this study, we apply model of non-fixed demand during lead time through Uniform distribution approach for determine the safety stock. The result shows that the safety stock of raw material PLATE SPCC-SB is 2598 sheets.
